How to Reset Dock OS X to Default

Dock is one of the most important features in OS X. It allows you to place your application icons as a shortcut so that you can open them quickly when needed. Usually Mac users put so many application icons on the dock, but there is time when you want to reset it to default. Because there is no reset button for this action, you need to do it through the Terminal app by writing a command. Check the steps by Tutorial Elex below:

How to Reset Dock OS X to Default

1. Press Command button and then press Space button - the spotlight search box will appear and type "Terminal." Or simply go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

2. Press Enter and copy paste the command below on the Terminal app.

    defaults delete com.apple.dock; killall Dock

3. Press Enter to execute the command.

Your dock will disappear and when it re-appears, it backs to default.

Note that the application that youve uninstalled will be placed with "?" icon.
